Kohima [Nagaland], December 1 : In a significant step towards fostering leadership and global engagement, the Nagaland government has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the British High Commission to reserve five annual slots in the prestigious Chevening Scholarship for candidates from the state.
The MoU was signed by Abu Metha, Chairman of the Investment & Development Authority of Nagaland, and Andrew Fleming, the British Deputy High Commissioner in Kolkata, at the Chief Minister’s official residence on Saturday. This initiative aims to provide Nagaland’s young talent with the opportunity to study in the UK and develop the skills necessary to contribute to the state’s economic and social growth.
This partnership is a transformative step for Nagaland, which is poised for significant development. With the state’s need for advanced human capital to drive its progress, the scholarships will play a crucial role in cultivating leadership, fostering global academic engagement, and highlighting Nagaland’s potential on the international stage.
