President Murmu’s Five-Day Visit to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana Begins Today

New Delhi, December 17 – President Droupadi Murmu is set to embark on a five-day visit to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana from December 17 to 21, 2024. During her stay, she will reside at Rashtrapati Nilayam in Bolarum, Secunderabad, as announced by the President’s Secretariat.

The visit will begin with President Murmu gracing the convocation ceremony of AIIMS in Mangalagiri, Andhra Pradesh, on December 17. Following this, on December 18, she will inaugurate and lay the foundation stones for several developmental initiatives at Rashtrapati Nilayam, showcasing her commitment to regional development and progress.

On December 20, President Murmu will present the prestigious President’s Colours to the College of Defence Management in Secunderabad. Later that evening, she will host an “At Home” reception at Rashtrapati Nilayam, welcoming dignitaries, leading citizens, academics, and other prominent figures from the state.

Preparations for the President’s visit are well underway. Telangana Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari recently held a meeting with senior officials to ensure meticulous arrangements. During the meeting, the Chief Secretary emphasized the importance of seamless coordination among officials to handle the visit effectively and in a manner befitting the President’s stature.

Meanwhile, earlier this week, President Murmu engaged in a diplomatic meeting with a parliamentary delegation from Armenia at Rashtrapati Bhavan. The delegation was led by Alen Simonyan, President of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia. In her remarks, the President highlighted the significance of regular parliamentary dialogues in fostering mutual understanding of governance systems and strengthening bilateral relations between the two nations.

This visit to Andhra Pradesh and Telangana marks another milestone in President Murmu’s outreach efforts, combining development initiatives, ceremonial responsibilities, and diplomatic engagements.
