Ahmedabad (Gujarat) [India], January 26: Coldplay’s first-ever performance in Ahmedabad was nothing short of spectacular, as the British band rocked the Narendra Modi Stadium on Saturday evening. After captivating Mumbai with their musical magic, Coldplay took the city by storm, delivering a jaw-dropping show that left fans in awe.

The stadium, packed to the brim, was buzzing with energy as Chris Martin and the band delivered an unforgettable experience. The crowd, electrified by the performance, witnessed an incredible display of Coldplay’s musical brilliance, with videos and images of the concert flooding social media.

In an endearing gesture, lead singer Chris Martin greeted the audience in Gujarati, saying, “Tame logo aaje badha sundar laago cho. Hu tamare shahar ma aavyo chu. Kem cho Ahmedabad?” (“You all look so beautiful today. I have come to your city. How are you, Ahmedabad?”), which was met with thunderous applause.

The highlight of the night came during the band’s iconic song “A Sky Full of Stars,” when the stadium transformed into a dazzling galaxy of twinkling lights. Fireworks illuminated the sky, adding to the surreal atmosphere. Chris Martin paused for a moment, encouraging the audience to put their phones down and enjoy the magic of the moment. “Your phone in your pocket, your hands in the sky,” he urged, and the crowd eagerly followed suit, singing along to the acoustic version of the hit song.

The powerful and emotional performance was followed by a heartfelt thank you from Martin, who expressed his gratitude for the overwhelming response from the audience. Coldplay also took to their social media, posting a message of thanks to the people of Ahmedabad for making the concert “totally mind-blowing.”

“We just had our biggest ever concert. Totally mind-blowing. Thank you Ahmedabad, see you again tomorrow! And if you’re in India, please join us on Disney+ Hotstar from 7.45pm,” the band posted.

Earlier in the day, Coldplay shared a fun moment on their X account, posting a picture of a cricket ball they had drawn with a cheeky note: “I think even Jasprit might struggle to bowl with this badly drawn ball, but at least it is almost spherical. It is such a pleasure to be here at this amazing stadium and to play in Ahmedabad for the very first time.”

The excitement continues as Coldplay prepares for their second performance in Ahmedabad on Sunday, which will also be streamed live on Disney+ Hotstar for fans around the world to enjoy.

With an unforgettable first concert and a second performance on the horizon, Coldplay has truly etched a memorable chapter in Ahmedabad’s musical history.
