Assam CM Distributes Grants and Relief to Beneficiaries in Golaghat
Golaghat (Assam), December 14: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma distributed grants and relief to beneficiaries under various schemes in Golaghat district on Saturday.
In his address, CM Himanta highlighted several key initiatives, including the distribution of ‘No Dues Certificates’ to over 5,000 women in the district who had taken loans from microfinance institutions but were unable to repay. He also announced the distribution of flood relief grants to more than 2,000 families and seed funds of Rs 40,000 to approximately 200 women.
CM Sarma mentioned that recently, Assam Agriculture Minister Atul Bora had distributed scooters, bicycles, and the Anundoram Barooah award to students in Golaghat, with Finance Minister Ajanta Neog also present for the occasion.
The Chief Minister further elaborated on the ongoing “12 Days of Development” programme, which has benefited many families in the Golaghat district.
Looking ahead, CM Himanta announced that on December 15, the government will distribute ration cards to those who do not have them. Between December 15 and 28, the government will also begin the process of selecting beneficiaries for the Orunodoi scheme.
Earlier, CM Sarma laid the foundation stone for the Jorhat town water supply scheme and launched several transformative initiatives aimed at improving growth and progress in the Jorhat district.
Addressing a long-standing issue in Jorhat, the Chief Minister stated that the “Drink from Tap” (DFT) project, which will involve an investment of Rs 220 crore, aims to provide clean and uninterrupted 24X7 water supply to residents using advanced technology and modern infrastructure.
These initiatives span various sectors, including Education, Industries & Commerce, Public Enterprises, Revenue and Disaster Management, and Finance, and reflect the Assam Government’s commitment to the state’s overall development and the well-being of its people.
