BCA President Rakesh Tiwari Praises Bihar’s Victory Over Delhi in Vijay Hazare Trophy
Hyderabad (Telangana), December 27: Bihar Cricket Association (BCA) President Rakesh Tiwari expressed immense pride in the Bihar cricket team after their remarkable victory against Delhi in the ongoing Vijay Hazare Trophy. The match took place on Thursday at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, where Bihar secured a 17-run win over Delhi using the VJD method.
Batting first, Bihar posted a total of 210/9 in 42 overs, with Bipin Saurabh and Raghuvendra Pratap playing crucial roles. Saurabh contributed a rapid 37 off 16 balls, while Pratap top-scored with 52 off 48 balls. These efforts were pivotal in setting a challenging total for the Delhi team.
Rakesh Tiwari congratulated both players for their outstanding performances and emphasized the significance of the win. “This victory against a team like Delhi, known for its strength, highlights the immense talent and resilience of our players. I extend my congratulations to Pratap and Bipin Saurabh for their exceptional efforts, and to the entire team for their remarkable teamwork,” said Tiwari.
He further remarked, “Such victories not only boost morale but also solidify Bihar’s position in domestic cricket. I believe this is just the beginning of many more such triumphs.”
Chasing a target of 211 runs, Delhi was unable to keep up with the required run rate. They reached 109/5 in 24 overs before rain interrupted play, leaving them behind the par score and resulting in Bihar’s 17-run victory. Notably, Raghuvendra Pratap, who had earlier scored a half-century, also played a pivotal role with the ball, claiming two crucial wickets.
“This is a significant win, as we have defeated a strong team like Delhi. It’s a big morale booster for the Bihar team. I’m very happy with my performance, and the team environment was excellent. Everyone played according to the plan,” said Pratap, who was named Player of the Match.
Bipin Saurabh also expressed his satisfaction with the team’s collective effort, saying, “I’m really happy with the performance today. The support from everyone was fantastic, and the team atmosphere was incredibly positive. This victory is a direct result of our team effort.”
Looking ahead, Bihar will face Baroda next on Tuesday at the same venue, the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad.
