Dome City with Luxury Hotel Facilities Under Construction for Mahakumbh 2025
Prayagraj (Uttar Pradesh), December 24: A groundbreaking dome city featuring luxury hotel accommodations is under development in the Arail area of Prayagraj to host devotees for the upcoming Mahakumbh 2025. The grand event is scheduled from January 10 to February 24, 2025, and this innovative infrastructure is set to redefine hospitality for pilgrims.
Visuals of the project reveal domes equipped with state-of-the-art facilities. According to Aishwarya Choudhary, the lead architect of this ambitious venture, this is the first time a dome city of this magnitude has been conceptualized for Mahakumbh. “The domes will offer all the amenities of a luxury hotel while retaining traditional and cultural elements,” Choudhary stated. “This marks a historic step in elevating the Mahakumbh experience.”
The booking process for these luxury domes has been streamlined, with reservations available online. Notably, 50% of the accommodations have already been booked, reflecting the enthusiasm of devotees. “Online bookings are open, and the response has been overwhelming,” Choudhary added.
Mahakumbh 2025: An Unprecedented Gathering
Uttar Pradesh Minister Nand Gopal Gupta highlighted the extensive preparations underway, emphasizing the anticipated scale of the event. “We are expecting between 40 to 45 crore people to attend the Mahakumbh. This influx includes a significant number of international visitors,” he said. To facilitate this, the Prayagraj airport is undergoing substantial upgrades, including the addition of six aerobridges.
Gupta also mentioned that customs clearance facilities are being requested to accommodate the needs of international travelers. “The city will be connected to 20-25 cities through enhanced air connectivity, with several commercial and charter flights operating during the event,” he explained. He further noted the economic benefits of Mahakumbh, stating, “This festival will provide a tremendous boost to Prayagraj’s economy.”
Coordination at Its Best
Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reviewed the preparations on December 23, praising the seamless coordination between Central and State Governments and various departments. “Every institution is actively engaged to ensure the success of this grand event,” CM Yogi remarked. He emphasized that the Mahakumbh is not just a religious gathering but also a unique opportunity to showcase Prayagraj’s hospitality to the world.
Addressing journalists, the Chief Minister urged the residents of Prayagraj to actively participate in the preparations. “This is a chance to elevate our city’s global reputation,” he said.
Key Dates and Highlights
The Mahakumbh, held once every 12 years, is scheduled to commence on January 13 and conclude on February 26, 2025. The main bathing festivals, known as “Shahi Snan” or royal baths, are set for January 14 (Makar Sankranti), January 29 (Mauni Amavasya), and February 3 (Basant Panchami). These significant dates are expected to draw millions of devotees.
