Lion Warriors Triumph in the Inaugural Madhya Pradesh Prime Table Tennis League

Indore (Madhya Pradesh), December 16: The inaugural season of the Prime Table Tennis – Madhya Pradesh (PTT-MP) League concluded in thrilling fashion on December 15, with Lion Warriors emerging victorious after a hard-fought 7-6 win over King Pong in the final. This exciting showdown marked the culmination of a three-day competition that featured intense battles between some of the best table tennis players.

Held from December 13 to December 15, 2024, the league showcased exceptional talent and fierce competition. The final match was a gripping affair, with both teams putting up a strong fight in singles and doubles encounters. Lion Warriors sealed their victory in a series of thrilling individual performances.

The match sequence began with Pratham and Pavi of the Lion Warriors falling short to Sumit and Parmi from King Pong, losing 1-2. Rhythm Gadiya (Lion Warriors) also succumbed to Atharva Singh (King Pong), with a 1-2 score. However, Lion Warriors’ Bhagyashree Dave brought the team back with a dominant 2-0 win over Zakiya Sultan of King Pong.

Anuj Soni (Lion Warriors) delivered another important win, overcoming Chaitanya and Shourya of King Pong 2-0. Pratham Batham (Lion Warriors) then defeated Sumit Mishra (King Pong) 2-0, while in the doubles category, Anuj and Mudit (Lion Warriors) won 2-0 against King Pong’s Chaitanya and Shourya.

However, the final moments saw Lion Warriors’ Parvi Pardeshi losing to Parmi (King Pong) 0-2, and Pankaj Nagdeva of Lion Warriors falling to Shourya Bhagia (King Pong) 0-2. Rhythm and Bhagyashree (Lion Warriors) were also defeated 0-2 by Atharva and Zakiya (King Pong). The contest concluded with Santosh Khirwadkar (Lion Warriors) securing a 2-0 victory against Prashant Mahant (King Pong), clinching the title for the Lion Warriors.

In recognition of individual and team efforts, several awards were presented. The Best Male Player award went to Shourya Bagua from King Pong, who received a Rs5,000 prize. The Best Female Player award was claimed by Bhagyashree Dave from Lion Warriors, also awarded Rs5,000. Pritish Jhanjhere received the Best Coach award, earning Rs5,000, while Anuj Soni from Lion Warriors was named Hero of the League, with a Rs5,000 prize.

The semi-finalist teams, Clipper and Yodhas, each received Rs50,000 in recognition of their strong performances. The team owners of Clipper and Yodhas were also awarded Rs50,000 each. For their runner-up position, King Pong’s team owner took home Rs1,00,000, while the winning team and team owner from Lion Warriors each received Rs2,00,000.

Om Soni, Chairman of the Madhya Pradesh Table Tennis Association, expressed his satisfaction with the success of the league, saying, “I am thrilled to see the Prime Table Tennis League Madhya Pradesh come to a successful conclusion. The level of competition and sportsmanship displayed by the players has been exceptional. I congratulate the Lion Warriors on their well-deserved victory and appreciate the efforts of all the teams, players, and officials who made this league a grand success.”
