Over 80 participants from various DRDO laboratories across India attended the conference, presenting scientific findings in Hindi. The programme aimed to promote scientific discourse in the national language and encourage the dissemination of knowledge about the role of defence technology in building a Viksit Bharat (Developed India).

The inaugural session was graced by Professor Shambhu Nath Singh, Vice Chancellor of Tezpur University, as the Chief Guest. In his address, he emphasized the significance of Hindi in scientific communication and national integration. Other esteemed guests included Dr. Sunil Sharma, Director, DPARO&M, DRDO HQ; Arun Chaudhary, Director, DIITM, DRDO HQ; and Brig Sujit Upadhyay, Brig EME 4 Corps.

Dr. DV Kamboj, Director DRL, delivered the welcome address, underscoring the importance of using Hindi for writing scientific articles. He encouraged the participants to continue promoting Hindi in their academic and professional work. Throughout the event, distinguished speakers, including eminent scientists and DRDO representatives, discussed various aspects of defence technology and its role in realizing a developed India. Faculty members from Tezpur University also delivered lectures during the programme.

The event concluded on December 13 with a valedictory function. Dr. PK Bora, Director, NERIWALM, Tezpur, presided as the Chief Guest and highlighted the crucial role of Hindi in scientific communication. KC Vikram, DIG SSB, attended as Guest of Honour, emphasizing the integration of Hindi to advance defence technology and foster scientific collaboration in the country.

This annual congregation not only reinforced the role of Hindi in scientific discourse but also celebrated the advancements in defence technology contributing to India’s vision of becoming a developed nation.

According to defence sources, the test results are currently under analysis, and officials will soon brief top military and political leaders. This milestone is considered vital for validating India’s second-strike capability, a critical component of its nuclear deterrence strategy.

INS Arighaat, inducted into the Navy in August this year at the Vishakhapatnam-based Ship Building Centre, is the second nuclear submarine in India’s arsenal capable of firing ballistic missiles. Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) conducted extensive trials of the missile system on underwater platforms before this full-range test.

Sources revealed that the Navy is planning further tests of the K-4 missile system. The Indian Navy’s fleet of nuclear submarines includes INS Arihant and INS Arighaat, with a third submarine already launched and expected to be inducted next year.

This test underscores India’s commitment to enhancing its strategic defence capabilities and reinforces its position as a key player in global nuclear deterrence.
