New Delhi, January 18, 2025 – At the ongoing Bharat Mobility Auto Expo, JBM Electric Vehicles and Olectra Greentech, two of India’s leading electric bus manufacturers, have made headlines by showcasing their latest innovations in electric mobility. The expo, which runs for six days in the national capital, highlights the advancements in green transportation solutions.

JBM Electric Vehicles, a pioneer in e-mobility and EV ecosystem solutions, revealed four of their latest electric buses to the public. The fleet includes the luxurious ‘Galaxy’ electric coach, the intercity ‘Xpress’ bus, the first-ever low-floor electric Medical Mobile Unit ‘e-MediLife,’ and India’s first 9-meter electric tarmac coach ‘eSkyLife.’ The unveiling ceremony was attended by Nitin Gadkari, the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, who praised the forward-thinking solutions presented by JBM.

Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman of JBM Group, emphasized the company’s commitment to sustainability and innovation, stating, “Our electric mobility solutions are not just about reducing carbon footprints; they are about improving the quality of life by making transportation smarter, safer, and more accessible.” He further added that JBM aims to serve over 20 billion passengers and achieve 3 billion e-kilometres in the next 3-4 years, showcasing their ambition to provide a cleaner and more connected future for public transportation.

Currently, JBM Electric Vehicles has deployed over 1,800 electric buses across India, Europe, the Middle East, and Africa. With a robust order book of over 10,000 electric buses, JBM operates the world’s largest dedicated integrated electric bus manufacturing facility outside of China, located in the Delhi-NCR region, with an annual production capacity of 20,000 electric buses.

On the other hand, Olectra Greentech Limited (OGL), another major player in India’s electric bus sector, also showcased its latest innovations at the expo. Olectra introduced its Blade Battery platform, along with new designs for 9-meter city buses and 12-meter coach buses. The company has already made significant strides in the electric bus sector, with over 2,200 electric vehicles in operation across India as of September 2024.

KV Pradeep, Chairman and Managing Director of Olectra, reflected on the company’s rapid growth, saying, “From our humble beginning with just six electric buses to over 5,150 buses in operation today, our journey has been nothing short of extraordinary. The Blade Battery is just the beginning, and we are constantly innovating to push the boundaries of what’s possible in electric mobility.”

Olectra’s notable achievements include securing the world’s largest electric bus order from Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC), with a commitment to deliver 5,150 electric buses. These vehicles have already traveled over 30 crore kilometers, redefining public transport in India.
