Gandhinagar (Gujarat) [India], February 3: The team of artists from Gujarat’s winning tableau at the 76th Republic Day National Parade met Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar on Monday. The CM congratulated them for securing third place in the State Cultural Performances, as stated in an official release.

The Gujarat Tableau, titled “From Anartpur to Ektanagar–A Wonderful Confluence of Heritage and Development,” impressed judges and secured a hat trick by winning the highest number of votes in the Popular Choice category, the statement added.

Among 31 tableaux showcased from various states and government departments at the 76th Republic Day Parade, Gujarat’s entry, presented by the Information Department, depicted the state’s blend of modern development and rich heritage, aligned with Prime Minister Modi’s vision.

The event was attended by key officials, including Secretary to the Chief Minister Avantika Singh, K.L. Bachani, Director of Information, Arvind Patel, Additional Director of Information, Jigar Khunt, Deputy Director of Information, and other members from the Information Department.

Earlier in the week, CM Patel had expressed confidence that Gujarat was successfully embodying Prime Minister Modi’s mantra of ‘Virasat Bhi, Vikas Bhi’ through public participation and leadership in national developments.

Citizens were invited to vote online for their favorite tableau in the ‘Popular Choice’ category during the parade. Since its debut at the 74th Republic Day Parade in 2023, Gujarat has consistently led the Popular Choice category, with the first tableau, “Clean Green Energy-rich Gujarat,” making a strong impact.

Last year, Gujarat’s tableau “Dhordo, World’s Best Tourism Village-UNWTO” secured second place in the Jury’s Choice for Excellence of Tableaus.

New Delhi [India], December 28: Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL), a prominent player in India’s renewable energy sector, has announced the establishment of a new wholly owned subsidiary named Adani Green Energy Sixty Eight Limited (AGE68L). The incorporation of this new entity was revealed in AGEL’s exchange filing on Saturday.

According to the filing, Adani Renewable Energy Holding Nine Limited, another wholly owned subsidiary of AGEL, has spearheaded the creation of AGE68L. Registered in India with the Registrar of Companies, Gujarat, Ahmedabad, the subsidiary will focus on renewable energy generation and operations.

The company shared that AGE68L aims to generate, develop, distribute, transmit, and supply various forms of power using renewable energy sources such as solar and wind. It is a step toward enhancing India’s clean energy goals and meeting the rising demand for sustainable energy solutions.

AGE68L has been set up with an authorised and paid-up capital of ₹1,00,000. As of now, the subsidiary is yet to commence its business operations.

Pioneering Renewable Energy Projects

AGEL has been at the forefront of driving the clean energy transition in India. The company is currently developing a colossal 30 GW renewable energy project at Khavda in Gujarat, covering a vast area of 538 sq. km. This initiative is anticipated to set a global benchmark for large-scale renewable energy projects.

In record time, AGEL operationalised the first 2 GW of solar capacity within 12 months of breaking ground in the financial year 2023-24. In addition, the company achieved significant milestones by operationalising 250 MW of wind capacity over the past six months, showcasing its ability to deliver even under challenging conditions like the monsoon season.

Expanding Renewable Energy Footprint

AGEL now boasts an operational renewable energy portfolio of 11.2 GW, the largest in India, spanning across 12 states. The company is steadfast in its commitment to India’s decarbonisation goals and has set an ambitious target of achieving a 50 GW capacity by 2030.

With the incorporation of AGE68L, Adani Green Energy Limited reaffirms its mission to lead the renewable energy sector and contribute to India’s sustainable energy future.

Tesla’s long-awaited entry into India is gathering momentum, with the company outlining plans to introduce affordable electric vehicles (EVs) and establish a manufacturing plant. The electric vehicle giant is currently in discussions with the Indian government to secure favorable terms, including reduced import taxes for companies that commit to local manufacturing. This aligns with India’s broader push to foster domestic manufacturing and reduce its carbon footprint.

Tesla’s proposed strategy for India involves initially importing kits for assembly through the Completely Knocked Down (CKD) route, making the vehicles more affordable for Indian consumers. The price for Tesla’s upcoming EV is expected to be around INR 20 lakhs, significantly lower than their existing models. This move is a part of Tesla’s mission to make electric vehicles accessible to a broader audience in India.

Elon Musk recently met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, signaling a strong partnership between Tesla and the Indian government. This collaboration is expected to pave the way for Tesla’s operations in India, with plans to set up a manufacturing plant potentially in states like Gujarat, Maharashtra, or Tamil Nadu. The government is reportedly considering new policies to incentivize such investments, which would require Tesla to commit to sourcing components locally and possibly establishing a robust service and support network across the country.

Tesla’s initial entry might involve importing fully built units to test the market and gather data on how their EVs perform in Indian conditions. Over the next two years, Tesla aims to establish a full-fledged manufacturing plant, which would not only cater to the Indian market but also serve as an export hub for right-hand drive markets.

The Indian EV market, though currently small, is rapidly growing, with the government targeting a significant increase in EV adoption by 2030. Tesla’s entry is expected to accelerate this growth, introducing competition and innovation into the market, which is currently dominated by local players like Tata Motors.

These tweets underscore Elon Musk’s commitment to bringing Tesla to India and his recent interactions with the Indian government. Tesla’s entry is poised to be a game-changer for the Indian EV landscape, offering a mix of affordability and cutting-edge technology.
