During the visit, Admiral Tripathi will hold bilateral discussions with prominent Indonesian government and defence officials. These include Lt Gen Sjafrie Sjamsoeddin (Retd), Defence Minister of Indonesia; General Agus Subiyanto, Commander of the Indonesian Armed Forces; and Admiral Muhammad Ali, Chief of Staff of the Indonesian Navy. The discussions will encompass a wide range of topics, including maritime security, joint training initiatives, and opportunities to further enhance operational collaboration between the two navies.

This visit highlights the robust maritime partnership between India and Indonesia, which is anchored in the shared vision of India-Indonesia Maritime Cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region. Both nations continue to prioritize maritime security and cooperation to uphold peace and stability in the region.

The two navies already engage in several collaborative activities such as joint exercises, port visits, and capacity-building training initiatives. Currently, the 43rd India-Indonesia Coordinated Patrol (CORPAT) is being conducted along the International Maritime Boundary Line (IMBL) from December 10 to 18.

Admiral Tripathi’s engagements during the visit are expected to further deepen the bonds of friendship and mutual understanding between the Indian and Indonesian navies.
