Washington, DC [US], January 19, 2025 – Ahead of Donald Trump’s inauguration as the 47th President of the United States, Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani and Reliance Foundation founder and chairperson Nita Ambani met with the President-elect on Sunday. Their meeting took place just days before Trump’s official swearing-in ceremony at the US Capitol, scheduled for January 20, 2025.

The prominent Indian business couple will play a notable role in the inauguration, with both Nita and Mukesh Ambani having secured a prominent seat at the event. They will sit together on the platform alongside other distinguished guests, including Trump’s Cabinet nominees and elected officials. Their presence underscores the growing influence of India’s business leaders on the global stage.

The Ambanis arrived in Washington, DC, on January 18, 2025, ahead of the ceremonial events surrounding the inauguration. The inaugural festivities kicked off the previous day with a reception and a grand fireworks display at the Trump National Golf Club in Virginia.

On Sunday evening, Nita and Mukesh Ambani attended a “candlelight dinner” hosted by the President-elect, an exclusive event that also featured Vice President-elect JD Vance and his wife, Usha Vance. This intimate gathering was one of the most coveted events surrounding the inauguration, showcasing the significant ties between the Ambanis and the Trump administration.

In addition to the Ambanis, a host of high-profile figures are expected at the inauguration, including tech moguls such as Elon Musk, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg, and French billionaire Xavier Niel. Mark Zuckerberg is also co-hosting a black-tie reception on January 20, celebrating the inauguration with Republican mega-donor Miriam Adelson, with the Ambanis anticipated to attend this event as well.

As the official Inauguration Day approaches, the political and business elite converge in Washington, making the event a unique intersection of power and influence. During the inauguration, Donald Trump will be sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, following his first term from 2017 to 2021.

To represent the Indian government at this historic moment, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar will attend the swearing-in ceremony. The Ambanis’ attendance further highlights the strong relationship between India and the US, particularly in the realm of business and trade.

The inauguration ceremony marks a significant moment in American politics, and with figures like the Ambanis in attendance, it also emphasizes the growing global connections influencing the future of both nations.

Washington DC [US], January 5: As the inauguration day draws near, President-elect Donald Trump has unveiled several key appointments to his White House team, strengthening his administration in anticipation of his swearing-in on January 20.

Stanley E. Woodward, an esteemed litigator and co-founder of Brand Woodward Law, LP, will serve as Assistant to the President and Senior Counselor. In his new role, Woodward will collaborate closely with the White House Chief of Staff. With experience handling high-profile cases, including federal jury trials, he brings a wealth of legal expertise to the administration. Prior to this, he represented international corporations facing allegations under the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act and coordinated counsel for companies involved in nationwide federal litigation.

Robert Gabriel Jr. is also making a return to the White House, this time as Assistant to the President for Policy. Gabriel has been a trusted advisor to Trump since the 2015 campaign, contributing to the success of Trump’s historic bid for the presidency. He has held various roles, including Special Assistant to the President during Trump’s first term, and has been instrumental in transforming the Mar-a-Lago operation into a national presidential campaign machine. Gabriel’s extensive background in broadcast television also includes his role as an Associate Producer for Fox News’ “The Ingraham Angle.”

Nicholas F. Luna has been appointed Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Implementation, where he will assist in shaping White House policy. A seasoned White House veteran, Luna has previously served as Presidential Trip Director, Personal Aide to the President, Assistant to the President, and Director of Oval Office Operations. In his new position, he will oversee Presidential scheduling and ensure the alignment of White House messaging with the administration’s broader goals. He will also play a key role in executing public-facing aspects of major policy initiatives and milestone events.

William Beau Harrison will return to his role as Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations. Harrison, a trusted aide to President Trump, is renowned for his leadership in coordinating presidential travel, including complex international trips. He has received the Secretary of Defense Medal for Outstanding Public Service and has been a critical figure in managing presidential operations. During Trump’s first term, Harrison played a crucial role in orchestrating historic summits, including those with North Korean Leader Kim Jong-Un, and in leading US delegations to countries like Iraq, North Korea, and Afghanistan.

Donald Trump’s resounding victory in the 2024 election, where he secured 312 electoral votes to Kamala Harris’ 226, was historic not only for his electoral win but also for his success in clinching the popular vote—a feat he shares with George Bush, the last Republican president to achieve this in 2004. Trump will make history again by becoming only the second leader to serve two non-consecutive terms in US history. His formal swearing-in will take place on January 20.
